Nicholas Green Award TAG Awards
|
Parent of the Year Award / Teacher of the Year Award / Jo Patterson Distinguished Service Award / Horizon AwardEach year at the annual conference, the Tennessee Association for the Gifted recognizes an outstanding parent, an outstanding teacher, and a recipient of the Jo Patterson Distinguished Service Award. For the second year the Horizon Award will also be given to honor a promising, new teacher of the gifted. TAG members may nominate deserving persons for these awards. Honorees will be announced at the 29th annual TAG conference in Chattanooga, September 18-19, 2008. Please send nomination forms to Leah Meulemans, 959 Signal Road, Signal Mountain, TN 37377. Nominations may only be submitted by a member of TAG and must be postmarked by August 31, 2008. A committee will select award honorees from the nominations received. TAG Parent of the Year AwardAs the conference location rotates to each of the grand divisions of the state, so does the award for outstanding parent. The 2008 Parent of the Year Award is available to a parent(s) of a gifted child in East Tennessee. TAG Teacher of the Year AwardThe award for outstanding teacher also rotates with the conference location to each of the grand divisions of the state. The 2008 Teacher of the Year Award is available to teachers of the gifted in East Tennessee. TAG Horizon AwardThis award is given to recognize a promising, new teacher of the gifted with fewer than five years experience in gifted education. The 2008 Horizon Award is available to teachers of the gifted in East Tennessee. Jo Patterson Distinguished Service AwardThis award is reserved to recognize an outstanding individual in the state of Tennessee who has made a significant contribution to the field of gifted education over an extended period of time (at least five years or more). |
