We're very excited to recognize the winners of TAG's mini-grant competition for 2011! This new program awards grants of up to $250 to TAG member teachers to fund exciting new projects designed or differentiated to meet the needs of gifted students. The outstanding programs funded by the 2011 mini-grant competition will incorporate challenging subject matter and help develop students' creativity, study skills, and metacognition.
The 2011 mini-grant winners are Amelia Bogdal of Shelby Oaks Elementary in Memphis for "Deliberate Questioning: Using Socratic Seminars to Develop Critical Thinking;" Claire Bergman of Snowden Middle School in Memphis for "Nobel Peace Prize Laureates and Gandhi;" and Teresa Johnson of Jackson-Madison County Schools for "Physics: Mysterious Machine." TAG congratulates all our mini-grant winners!
