It was another exciting year for TAG at the National Association for Gifted Children's State Affiliates conference! The conference was held from March 17-20 at the Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington, D.C. TAG was represented by President Elect Leah Meulemans and Newsletter Editor Laura McLean. The State Affiliates Conference is a great place to share ideas with other NAGC state affiliate organizations and receive updates from the national leadership. Leah and Laura will be bringing back many great ideas for advocacy, outreach and support home to Tennessee.

Not only did the State Affiliates Conference provide an opportunity to meet with Tennessee's Congressional Representatitves about including support for gifted learners in the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), it also provided a forum for many great speakers to share their expertise on advocating for gifted children in the states. Presenters included NAGC President Paula Olszewski-Kubilius, NAGC Director of Public Education Jane Clarenbach, and Director of the University of Iowa's Belin-Blank Center Nicholas Colangelo. Most of the presentations and supplemental materials presented at the conference can be found online at the NAGC State Affiliate Resource Center.
